It's the time of year for all things hearts and love! But how can you make Valentine's Day fun for kids? Are there simple Valentine's day crafts that would be fun to try? Here's a list of seven easy Valentine's Day Crafts for toddlers, plus some bonus ones we love too!
What are some good Valentine's Day crafts for toddlers?
Valentine's Day brings out the craftiness in many parents as they try and work with their kids to make something special for loved ones. Having a homemade Valentine's Day card or craft from a child seems a lot more special than a store bought valentine.
Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that seems to sneak up on me in February since it is so early in the month. But with all the hearts and treats, it's become my favorite winter holiday to celebrate. This year I am excited to make valentines with my kids and do other Valentine's Day themed activities.
Here's my formula for a good Valentine's Day craft:
- Kid-made- You can tell that kids helped create it. If it includes a child's handprint or footprint, it gets bonus points!
- Inexpensive & simple supplies- It uses materials that I have at home (or can purchase pretty inexpensively)
- Low-prep- It doesn't take hours to make and there aren't a dozen steps.

What kind of crafts can a 2 year old do?
Two year olds typically have short attention spans and limited experience with crafts. Crafts that get their bodies moving or use materials that are simple usually work the best for them. Two of my favorite crafts to do with two year olds are making spin art hearts and creating heart wreaths.
